Seeing Double

My Book Choosing Process

Newsflash: when I’m at work at my desk, most of the time I’m not really doing work. I’m browsing Goodreads.

I can’t stop. it’s an addiction. There are so many books, and not enough time to read them all.

This is how I choose books for my TO BE READ list: Goodreads Best Of lists and Buzzfeed Books recs.

On Goodreads, I change the button to save to my TO READ list.

Then I log onto my public library website, and request a hold on the book. If it’s not there yet because it’s upcoming, then I save the novel title into my iCal for future reference.

The other day I was reading a list for upcoming books and read about a book I found interesting, called Hello, Sunshine. I opened my iCal to save it in for July 11th, and realized I had already saved the name in there. I thought, that’s weird! I honestly can’t remember reading this book blurb before but hey, it’s totally possible. I do have a bad memory.

On the same day, I was reading another book list and saw that Laura Dave has a new book coming out. Sweet! And it’s called…..

Hello, Sunshine.

So to recap: we’ve got two books with the same name, coming out on the same day.

I guess these things happen? How would Simon Schuster know that Disney-Hyperion chose the same book title as them?

Anyways, I still want to read both books. They both (shockingly) sound like perfect summer reads!
